What kind of bike should I use for the ride?

On last year's event we had a real mix and match of bikes in terms of size, quality and type.  Some people had very expensive carbon fibre road bikes, others had mountain bikes with slick tyres.  There was even one person with a bike that was a 20 year old commuting type bike.  Basically it really doesn't matter that much, this is not a race.

However it is important to stress that you do need a bike that you feel comfortable on AND that you've ridden some long rides on prior to the event. The general ethos for the event is to make it sociable and fun, however as we grow in numbers it may be necassary to split into smaller groups along the way based on your ability and speed so people dont either feel left behind or held back.

If you check out the promotional video on the home page you can get a glimpse of some of the bikes that were used, or feel free to contact us if you want to talk about it.
